GET TO SCHOOL ON TIME...
Parents, please help Dana MS reduce its tradies. Too many students are getting to school late. The California State Education Code, Section 48200, states that it is the responsibility of the parent or guardian, or adult custodian, to see that his or her child attends school full time, and arrives on time every day. Please make sure your child is on time and at school before the first bell rings each day ready to learn. Thank you for helping us help you!

STUDENT ABSENCES
Any student who is absent must return with a note signed and dated by their parent(s). Students must bring their note to the attendance office the following day after his/her absence. Please state the nature of the absence such as illness, funeral, doctor appointment, etc. Thank you for your cooperation! :)

CELLULAR PHONES
This is a reminder to all students that cell phones are prohibited on campus. Your phone will be confiscated if it is seen in your possession or is heard in the classroom. Confiscated cell phones will only be released to an adult. Keep your cell phone turned off and in your backpack during the school day. It is the policy of the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) to prohibit the use of cellular phones, pagers, or any electronic signaling device by students on campus during normal school hours or school activities.

HELMETS MUST BE WORN

RANDOM METAL DETECTOR SEARCHES
School systems are faced with ever-increasing violence, including the use of weapons on or adjacent to school campuses. The use of metal detectors could prove to be a useful deterrent when utilized in a random search program. The purpose of a metal detection program within District schools is to deter the bringing of weapons onto school grounds, thereby reducing the potential for violent incidents.

WALK IN THE CROSSWALKS
Students, please use caution when crossing the streets. Use the crosswalk, do not jay walk. Look before entering the street and make eye contact with the driver! Make sure traffic is stopped before entering the street. We have had many near misses on Cabrillo Avenue and Gaffey Street. Safety First!
